An Urgent Call to Prayer . . .

the standard web

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

This is very urgent. Please take quality time to prayerfully read this letter.

Dr. Jack Hayford wrote an article in Charisma News about the Presidential election. He gave four imperatives that the church must do to save America.

Dr. Hayford said, “The re-election of President Obama is yet another landmark of history that reveals the inevitable flow of events which increase in depth and spread when the church mistakes its mission. As one incident, the election outcome holds the portent of being a prophetic announcement of the impending end of the significance of the church in America, unless …

.. Unless a reawakening of Christ’s body in America occurs, which heeds the “first of all” priority of Paul, by the Holy Spirit (1 Tim. 2:1-2), assigned to the church’s ministry of prayer and intercession for leaders, peoples and nations, no administration or political party will be capable of a solution to our nation’s essential problems.

Unless the church becomes more persuaded that the fountainhead of its strength is in living worship—by which we humble ourselves, seeking God’s presence . . .

Unless the pulpits, sanctuaries and classrooms of the church be once again employed as centerpieces of shaping disciples unto transformation.

Unless a vanguard of today’s American church leadership chooses to take a stand with Israel as the Sovereign God’s chosen people.

In summary: the bitter fruit of the 2012 presidential outcome is not the party or person who is taking the White House, but in the disappearing fruitage of the church’s inherent, God-given dynamic to affect the spiritual climate of our nation . . .”

Most of the time we read a prophetic word like this from a proven Voice of God in our generation and then DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT.  We cry, complain and preach about the woes of our nation, economy and churches – yet we keep doing what we have been doing expecting different results.

Even before I read Jack Hayford’s article, God had already began to deal with me about 2013. I was in Israel this year. I felt compelled to go to Israel and to personally spend time in Jerusalem. I spent hours for a number of days in the Garden Tomb of Jesus. Sometimes I just sat there, other times I prayed and worshiped. I walked the streets, sat in the outside restaurants and watched the local people. I did not go to Israel to see the sights, I felt compelled to just be there.

Jack Hayford said, “Unless a vanguard of today’s American church leadership chooses to take a stand with Israel as the Sovereign God’s chosen people (a theological posture rooted in the Word and our nation’s history), the effect of our present apathy will advance an already increasing global anti-Semitism, and the brash rise in political scorn manifest today will continue to move our nation closer to the edge of self-destruction by reason of its collective choice to pass judgment against and forsake our support of God’s ancient land and people; a choice certain to boomerang cataclysmic judgments upon us via a scenario which may well bring about the finale of our nation’s existence (see Zech. 12-14).”

The last four years our President did nothing publicly to truly support Israel. He has not done anything about the Muslim Brotherhood taking over Egypt. He has not moved to stop the progression of the policies of Iran. We might as well believe that the next four years will be much more of the same, while the Middle East becomes more hostile and pressures the world against Israel. It looks like the United Nations is going to take one more step against Israel by accepting and acknowledging Palestine as a state.

Our Supreme Court is going to consider the California voter’s choice opposing same sex marriage at a private conference on Friday, November 30. If they decide that our law, the people’s choice in California, is unconstitutional, then we will see this sweep across the nation. Our President has already said that he believes same sex marriage should be legalized.  This is no doubt the most critical time in any of our lifetimes. What are we going to do about it? Are we going to sit back and let the Devil pursue his agenda for our generation?

I have no doubt about what God has spoken to me. There is a transforming move of God over the horizon. “When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him” (Isaiah 59:19). God is looking for a people who will be that STANDARD.  God will find a man and a people to stand in the gap.  I believe Praise Chapel is called of God to be that Standard.  Do we truly believe that we can be THE STANDARD that God will use to drive back the forces of evil?

Billy Graham wrote on November 8, “I ask you to join me in committing the next 52 weeks to faithful, even fervent, prayer for this land in which we live.”

I join with Jack Hayford and Billy Graham by asking you to join with me in challenging every Praise Chapel Pastor and congregation to prayer, fasting and intercession.  “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

A few days ago, I spent the entire day (over 10 hours) reading about the past revivals. I read magazines, reports and testimonies.  Prayer was always the starting point for transformation and revival. Sometimes only a few prayed, yet their desperate – united prayers made the difference.
In the 16 years that I have led Praise Chapel, I have never called for a Fellowship-wide prayer, fasting and intercession. Now the trumpet has sounded and the call is going forward. The Holy Spirit is asking, “Will you be The Standard?”

Here is the call:

Join together on January 1, 2013 for a one day, 24 hour Fellowship-wide Prayer, Fasting and Intercession, starting at Midnight December 31 through Midnight January

I am asking brothers and sisters  in various areas who can to open their church or home for this 24 hour period. We will challenge people from the churches around to join together for prayer. There are many ways this can be done. You can have a church sign-up and make a commitment  for two to four-hour blocks. Individuals can sign up for certain times.  Some may stay the entire time, others more or less. What I want is 24 hours of constant prayer.  We will be live online. While people are in prayer they can get online or you can have the prayer on your large screens. This way we can all be joined together for 24 hours.

Set January as a Fasting and Prayer month. Some will do the Daniel fast for 21 days, others will fast in different ways. Try to have as many hours of prayer covered each day in January.

Billy Graham asked for 52 weeks of prayer. That means we make 2013 a year of renewed Prayer, Fasting and Intercession. As you look to schedule your church calendar make prayer a priority. Start the year by, preaching and teaching on Prayer, Fasting and Intercession.

2013 is going to be a year filled with challenges for our nation, Israel and our world. I know that in the midst of this, some are going to experience a visitation of God.  God has blessed Praise Chapel for such a time as this – but we must choose.

Will you join me? Call the Praise Chapel office or email me and let us know that you will open your church or you will challenge your congregation this 24 hours of Prayer and Fasting in some way. (Acts 13:1-3)

Yours for Revival,

Larry Neville
